Following a rigorous search, the board voted to offer Allmendinger the presidency during a public meeting. Trustees discussed each candidate and reviewed feedback from faculty, staff, students and community members before making the decision. The board also directed Chair Stacey Gannon and Treasurer Jon Foco, in consultation with legal counsel, to negotiate her employment contract, which will be subject to board approval.

Allmendinger currently serves as vice president of student affairs at Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa. She holds a doctorate in higher education administration from Michigan State University, a master’s degree in sport sociology and sport psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, and a bachelor’s degree with a double major in English and secondary education from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois.

“We had a tremendous and highly qualified pool of candidates to consider, and I’d like to thank all members of the Presidential Search Advisory Committee for their dedication throughout this process,” Gannon said. “I also want to express my appreciation to the campus and community members who shared their perspectives and expectations for our next leader. Dr. Allmendinger impressed us all with her inclusive, collaborative approach and her vision for innovation. I am confident she will be an outstanding leader for years to come.”

Trustee Diane Middleton chaired the Presidential Search Advisory Committee for the replacement of Dr. Mike Gavin, who left the position in December 2025.
