Several options for prior learning credits require an exam, whether for a certification or for the credit directly. The Delta College Testing Center offers several of these exams in one convenient location. See the options below for more details.
Academic credit can be granted for many types of training programs and certifications, many of which have a testing component that can be taken at our Testing Center.

Proof of current credentialing must be submitted to the Registrar’s Office for evaluation and posting of applicable credits or waivers. Contact the Registrar's Office at registration@delta.edu or see the Michigan Transfer Network – Industry Credentials page for further information.
How to register
- Create an account with College Board.
- Select the exam and pay the examination fee directly to College Board.
- Note: Due to CLEP regulations, we are unable to accommodate students who register for a remote appointment. Please make sure you choose the option for testing at a Test Center when registering for your CLEP exam.
- Contact the Cashier's Office at 989-686-9394 to arrange payment of the $35 administration fee payable directly to Delta College Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Email the Delta College Testing Center at testingcenter@delta.edu with your CLEP ticket and receipt information.
- Upon receipt of the above, you will be contacted to schedule your appointment and to receive final instructions.
- Arrive on time for your appointment and bring your government-issued ID.
Certain members of the U.S. Armed Services, veterans, their spouses and civilian employees may be eligible for DANTES funding to take a CLEP exam. Proper Military ID is required on the day of testing. All DANTES eligible service members will be required to pay Delta College's administrative fee of $35, or $25 for active military.
- Credits earned through Credit-by-Examination will not transfer to other colleges or universities.
- You may not be currently enrolled in the class, nor have taken it previously.
- Some courses require prerequisites. Refer to the current Delta College catalog to determine if you have met the prerequisites before registering for an exam.
- Credit-by-Examinations receive a pass/fail. You will not receive a grade.
- If you choose the credit option, credits will be posted to your transcript.
- Fees are $60 per credit hour, or $35 for a waiver (no credits applied to transcript). Fees are nonrefundable and non-transferable.

DANTES exams are designed to help active military members and veterans pursue their educational goals and earn degrees during and after their service. DSST Exams are now available to all students, not just active military. For more information, please visit getcollegecredit.com/about-dsst/
