Digital forensics is a critical part of the criminal justice and information security industries that helps to identify, respond and investigate cyber-related crimes and digital evidence. The digital forensics programs at Delta have been designed to prepare you for challenging positions in the rapidly growing field of cyber-investigations and digital forensics in a law enforcement or corporate environment.

This interdisciplinary approach, along with the ability to specialize with two tracks, provides you a unique opportunity to learn cutting-edge investigation and evidence examination methods coupled with the legal and procedural requirements required within the criminal justice system.

Knowledge of the digital forensic process permeates multiple industries and is an excellent way to distinguish oneself with a unique set of digital-detective skills. The framework of the program consists of foundations in proper evidence handling and law, along with the technical aspects of cybercrime, digital investigations and digital forensic work. Depending on their career goals, two different tracks are available for aspiring digital forensic examiners: digital forensics in criminal justice or digital forensics and incident response.

Our degree prepares you for a career in digital forensics. In addition to the digital forensics associate degree, Delta also offers a post associate certificate of achievement. It is designed to supplement your criminal justice degree and experience with knowledge in the use and applications of digital forensics.

Digital forensics in criminal justice track

The digital forensics in criminal justice associate degree track is designed to provide you with specialized knowledge in digital forensics and the criminal justice field combined with a broad educational background. The program offers theoretical, practical and technical instruction designed to meet an ever-increasing demand for law enforcement, security and correctional personnel who also maintain specialized training in digital forensics and cybercrime.

You would be prepared to seek entry-level employment and perform specialized forensic work during your career as a police officer, corrections officer, conservation officer, juvenile officer, private security officer, detective, special agent or continue your education in criminal justice and digital forensics for a career as a digital forensics examiner.

Digital forensics and incident response track

The digital forensics and incident response associate degree track is designed to provide you with specialized knowledge in digital forensics and legal concepts as they pertain to a corporate environment. The program offers theoretical, practical and technical instruction designed to meet an ever-increasing demand for forensically trained technicians in the corporate world.

You would be prepared to seek entry-level employment as a digital forensic analyst, malware analyst, computer forensic technician or continue your computer science oriented education with a bachelor’s degree in forensics or computer science for employment in the intelligence community, eDiscovery and computer networking fields.
