Careers in accounting can be exciting, rewarding, lucrative and highly practical. Nearly every business, nonprofit and government organization relies on accounting professionals, creating strong and consistent career opportunities.
Delta College is an excellent place to begin your accounting journey. Small class
sizes, personalized instruction and supportive faculty provide an ideal environment
for learning the fundamentals of accounting. Most of Delta’s accounting courses are
offered online, giving you the flexibility to balance your college education, with
work and other commitments.
Delta’s accounting programs are designed as a laddered pathway, allowing you to build your education step by step. Credits earned in one program apply directly to the next, making it easy to continue advancing your education and career.
If you're looking for a short-term, part-time program that prepares you for entry-level bookkeeping and financial records positions, consider the Accounting Foundations Certificate of Achievement. From there, you can continue into the Accounting Career Skills Advanced Certificate, with those credits applying toward the Accounting Associate in Business Studies degree.
Consider the Accounting Analytics certificate if you’re working in the field but want to boost your data analysis skills.
Planning to go even further? If your career goal is to become a financial or managerial accountant, earning a bachelor's degree and a professional credential, such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA), can help you get there. Delta College makes it easy to take the next step with pre-approved transfer partnerships at several universities. Most accept up to two years of Delta credits, and some accept as many as three years, so you can transfer with confidence and keep moving toward your goals.
