The search to identify the next president of Delta College is underway, with the launch of a new website that outlines the search process and position qualifications.
Applications and nominations for the presidential position are currently being accepted. The target application deadline is February 9, 2026.
The Board of Trustees is leading the national search with input from an advisory committee of students, faculty, staff and community leaders. Third-party support comes from the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) which has the job posting available on their website and is helping to recruit competitive candidates.
Board Chair Stacey Gannon said the college is committed to conducting a thorough, transparent and inclusive search process, keeping all interested parties updated as the search progresses.
In September, Dr. Michael Gavin announced his resignation as president of Delta College. He became the fifth president of Delta in 2021. When he resigns at the end of the year he will have served as president for four years.
“Dr. Gavin is an exceptional example of what a college president should be, and we are proud of the path he has chosen,” reminds Gannon. “We thank Dr. Gavin for his service to the college and our communities and we wish him well on his continuous work to protect the values and commitments of higher education on a national scale.”
