Andy and Donna Rapp

Andy Rapp
Totaling 36 years in length, Mr. Rapp’s career on our airwaves holds the record as the longest span of any of our talented and dedicated host/producers.

On Thursday, May 7, Delta College Public Media staff greeted guests on campus for a reception to celebrate another year of service to the community. The stations have been a broadcasting staple in the region for decades, offering a valuable service, with the community’s commitment and support.

At the gathering, Delta College unveiled and dedicated its Rapp Family Studios. Supported by Andy and Donna Rapp, the stations now have access to a fund they established to provide long-term financial support for Delta College Public Media. Staff were able to recognize the Rapps’ strong belief in the value of public TV and radio, and their support of Public Media’s current programming.

M. Andersen “Andy” Rapp worked full-time at
Delta College, as an associate professor in broadcasting. He also served as a producer-director, executive producer and on-air TV program host on WUCM TV-19. Both Andy and Donna have been associated with
Delta College’s TV station over the decades and also provide support to several community non-profits within the region.

Delta College Public Media is an indispensable and unmatched source of news, information, cultural commentary and insights into an incredibly broad range of issues and events. One of the key responsibilities of a public broadcasting station – both TV and radio – is to be responsive and available to the community it serves.

A number of invited supporters from the viewing and listening region joined the celebration and were able to meet staff and tour the studios. With support like that received from the Rapps, Delta College Public Media will continue to produce and air quality local programs, aligned with Delta’s educational mission.
