 Observe the Moon Family Night

Take one giant leap to the Delta College Planetarium on Friday, July 24 at 6pm for a free, family-friendly event honoring the anniversary of the first manned lunar landing.

Start the night in the Grand Atrium Lobby with hands-on activities for all ages, then head into the Dome360 Theater at 7pm for a live, immersive show all about our closest celestial neighbor.

Planetarium Manager Mike Murray will guide you on a virtual tour of the lunar surface, showing what you can spot through binoculars and telescopes while sharing exciting updates from recent space missions, including Artemis II.

After the show, if the skies cooperate, step out onto the rooftop observation deck for a real-life look at the Moon through telescopes, with help from the Delta College Astronomy Club.

The activities and planetarium show will run regardless of the weather, only the telescope viewing depends on clear skies.

Be a star

Celebrate someone special—or create a lasting legacy of your own—by placing a name among the constellations.

In the planetarium’s marble lobby, 621 bronze “stars” are embedded within their celestial positions, each one representing a piece of the universe. By sponsoring a star, yours can become part of that display—recognized and remembered for years to come.

Two sizes are available: a five-inch star for $2,000 and a four-inch star for $1,500. Your sponsorship is tax-deductible and offers a meaningful way to honor a person, family or milestone.

Your gift also supports the future of the planetarium, helping fund new technology and programs so visitors of all ages can continue to experience the wonder of the universe.

To sponsor a star, contact the Delta College Foundation at 989-686-9224 or foundation@delta.edu.
