Learn the ins and outs of agricultural operations in one of Michigan's premier agricultural programs. We've teamed up with Michigan State University's Institute of Agricultural Technology (IAT) to give you a top-notch education. With this joint program, you won't skip a beat between Delta and MSU.

Apply for dual enrollment at both Delta College and Michigan State University IAT, Delta College Associate in Applied Science degree and a Michigan State University Certificate. All coursework through MSU IAT courses is delivered locally at Delta College or online. Depending on your career goals, two different tracks and pathways are available:

  • Track 1: Agricultural Operations
  • Track 2: Food Processing, Technology and Safety
  • Pathway 1: Career option (more options for Delta College elective courses)
  • Pathway 2: Transfer option (option to transfer for a Bachelor’s Degree)

Choose a track

Delta College offers students an opportunity to earn an Associate of Applied Science in agricultural technology and an MSU Certificate in one of two exciting tracks.

Agricultural Technology

The Agricultural Technology track provides practical training for rewarding careers in production agriculture. Students will take courses related to plant and soil sciences, precision agriculture, pest management, plant disease, farm management and more. They will also gain professional experience through a required internship.

Food Processing, Technology and Safety

The Food Processing, Technology and Safety track trains students to turn basic goods—fruits, vegetables, dairy and grains—into consumable food products. Students will learn to perform safety checks and product analysis in order to ensure the highest standard of quality and consumer safety. They will leave prepared for a rewarding career in the growing food processing industry.

Choose a pathway

Delta College offers students an opportunity to decide on one of two pathways that focus on their future goals.

Career pathway

The career pathway focuses on helping students with their career goals and offering more Delta College courses. Students can take more business courses, skill trades courses, and more for their elective requirements.

Transfer pathway

The transfer pathway focuses on helping students transfer to a four-year institution by completing the Michigan Transfer Agreement with Delta College. Students will work with the program coordinator to help plan courses that transfer to the institution of their choice.
