Audiences can enjoy classic and favorite Halloween tunes such as “Bad Moon Rising,” “Somebody’s Watching Me,” “This Is Halloween,” “Monster Mash,” “Spirit in the Sky” and “Thriller,” all set to immersive 3D animation and light effects inside the planetarium’s Dome360 Theatre. Ideally suited for family audiences, the visuals can be funny, spooky, mesmerizing and sometimes send audiences spinning through imaginative landscapes.
“While popular with families, this is a fun show for all ages,” says Mike Murray, manager of the planetarium. “It’s become a classic favorite of the Halloween season, and we love that it draws such a wide audience. Some of the special effects are performed live, giving each show a unique flavor.” Some visuals and sound effects might be too intense for very young viewers.
“The Monster Light Show” plays every Saturday in October at 2 and 7pm, October 3-31. Tickets are available at www.delta.edu/calendar/planetarium.html. Advance purchase is recommended due to the popularity of the show. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students, children ages 3-18, seniors and members of the military. Due to the intensity of the sound and lights, the show is not recommended for children under 6.
