A featured Latino Mental Health Panel will take place Sept. 24 from 6-7:30pm at the Downtown Saginaw Center. Panelists will talk about mental health in the Latino and Hispanic community, with a focus on access, representation, stigma and support.

- This session will focus on the complexity of cultural identities across Hispanic and Latino cultures. We will explore the impacts on building a sense of belonging and connection for students, faculty, staff and community.
El Camino Session – Why should I go to college?
Downtown Saginaw Center: Room 101, September 17, 5-6:30pm
- El Camino centers the experiences of our Hispanic/Latino students and is open to everyone. We will hear from Delta College staff, current students and alumni in a panel focused on “Why should I go to college?” Snacks will be provided.
Choppin' It Up in the City – Tortilla Making

- Choppin It Up in the City and Delta College are hosting a tortilla making session. Join us to learn how to make tortillas from scratch and explore this cultural tradition.

- Author Talk Lunch and Learn with Robert “Carlos” Fuentes. Fuentes’s book The Vacation focuses on the experience of a teenage migrant farmworker in Michigan. Lunch will be provided.

- An art exhibit featuring local Hispanic/Latino artists.
“We are excited to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month 2026,” said Chris DeEulis, director of Belonging, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. “We'll partner with community organizations, and hear from some of our current faculty, staff, and students as they share their experiences throughout the month.”
