Delta College annually recognizes the success of its high-achieving students with graduate student awards.
The awards acknowledge outstanding new graduates who represent the future of the Great Lakes Bay Region and beyond. Awards are given to students for their academic achievement and dedication to their field of study.
Thanks to the generosity of several businesses, organizations and individuals, recipients receive a monetary gift to assist with their future endeavors.
Award of Excellence for Academic & Citizenship
William R. Collings Award of Excellence
Brandon Hillaker, of Saginaw, graduated with an associate in arts in the psychology transfer pathway, earning a 3.9 GPA. On campus and across Michigan, he has worked to raise awareness of mental health issues and to reduce the stigma by organizing mental health fairs, participating in a 400-mile triathlon fundraiser and authoring two books. Brandon plans to continue his education, focusing his research on bipolar disorder with the goal of helping individuals living with the condition thrive, rather than simply survive.

Robert and Joyce Hetzler Family
Lexus Lytle-Moutoux, of Saginaw, graduated with an associate of applied science degree in nursing (RN) with a 3.3 GPA. During her time at Delta College, she balanced demanding coursework and clinical shifts while maintaining employment and staying active in community service at Delta, local schools and youth sports programs. Lexus currently works as a nurse in the intensive care unit and plans to attend Saginaw Valley State University to further her education and prepare for advanced roles in the nursing profession.
