The Great Solar System Adventure opens at the Delta College Planetarium Saturday, May 10 at 2pm. This character-led full-dome show takes viewers on an immersive adventure to experience the dangers and wonders of our solar system.
Join showman extraordinaire, The Great Schiaparelli, as he takes spectators on a death-defying space-time adventure within his wondrous Observatorium. But the Observatorium isn’t just for show. It will transport the audience right to the heart of some of the deadliest locations in our slice of the heavens. It’s going to take some fancy flying to get everyone back in one piece! From the sun-scorched surface of Mercury to the icy expanses of Pluto and beyond, prepare to be subjected to the myriad dangers and wonders of our Solar System.
“Winner of eight full-dome film festival awards, this latest release from the National Science Centre creates an engaging and dynamic journey through the worlds of our solar system,” says Mike Murray, astronomer and planetarium manager. “Audiences get to experience the wildest discoveries through an exciting storyline.”
The Great Solar System Adventure is appropriate for ages 6 and up with a running time of 30 minutes. Every show is followed by a live presentation about the night sky, current events and hot topics. The show runs every Saturday (except July 5) at 2pm from May 10 through August 30.
