Emergency alerts are urgent, mass notifications that keep students, faculty, staff and community members informed about active emergencies, severe weather, campus closures and more. This system will be activated without delay by Delta College’s Department of Public Safety.
In the case of inclement weather, maximum effort will be made to make the decision to close the college prior to 6am for day classes, and prior to 3:30pm for evening classes. If the main campus closes, the downtown centers will also close.
This service is free and available to anyone who wishes to receive them.
Emergency alerts are reserved for campus-wide emergencies, which include but are not limited to:
- Fire alarm activation
- Emergency campus closures
- Active assailant
- Severe weather alerts or tornado warnings
- Road closures
Alerts are also sent when the campus conducts various emergency drills.
Text DELTAEMG to 888777 for text alerts only. Or add your cell phone number, email address and zip code to the alert form to receive both text and email alerts.
