It’s estimated that a cyberattack occurs every 39 seconds. A data breach can cost a company millions of dollars to rectify. It’s critical for these companies to learn to protect their data from cybercriminals.

Delta College and regional industry security experts invite you to join us Friday, October 18 from 10am – noon in the Lecture Theater (G160) for a free symposium on cybersecurity and emerging threats where you will learn how to assess and improve security tools and methods to safeguard both personal and organizational data.

“A huge part of the battle in cybersecurity is making people aware of current and emerging cyber threats that impact both their personal and work life,” says Josh Berry, chief information officer of Information Technology. “Once bad actors get your information, or an organization's information, there’s no pulling it back. Cybersecurity work is never done because threat actors never stop.”

This thought-provoking event will feature FBI Special Agent, Anthony Kraudelt, as the keynote speaker. Kraudelt specializes in preventing and investigating areas such as cybercrimes, foreign intelligence matters and crimes against children.

There will also be a collaborative Cybersecurity Panel Discussion with industry security experts, including Michigan State Police and cybercrime officers covering topics such as the tactics identity thieves use and how to protect your organization from cyberattacks.
