Dr. Michelle Allmendinger

With more than 20 years of leadership experience in higher education, Dr. Allmendinger is a passionate advocate for student success.

She has distinguished herself as a leader committed to advancing student success through strategic initiatives that expand access, improve retention and completion, and removing barriers to educational attainment. Throughout her career, she has championed opportunities for first-generation students, underserved communities and adult learners.

In addition to student affairs administrative experience, Dr. Allmendinger also has college teaching and academic affairs experience.

A native of Moline, Illinois, Dr. Allmendinger is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Knox College, where she was a first-generation college student, McNair Scholar, and two-sport athlete who earned double majors in English and Secondary Education. She holds a master’s degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Michigan State University.

Her leadership experience spans athletics, academic affairs and student affairs, with a proven record of fostering student achievement, institutional growth and community engagement throughout her career.
