The Delta Debates bring real-world issues to Delta's campus every semester. It's a great way to be informed (and participate) in what's happening in our state, our nation and around the world.

Building Doors or Walls: Immigration, the Economy and Public Policy
Tuesday, November 3, 7 - 8:30pm
Delta College Lecture Theater (G160)
With immigration front and center of the 2016 presidential election, the Delta Debates
Political Forum series is holding an event to inform the Delta community on the topic. A
diverse panel of experts has been assembled to explore this issue from a variety of
perspectives. The panel will include Bing Goei, director of the Office for New Americans;
Ali Kahil, delta student; Victoria Arteaga, JD, International Affairs Center; and
Tamyra Murray, founder of Michiganders for Immigration Control and Enforcement. The
panel discussion will be moderated by sociology professor Colleen Wilson-Rood.
The lively panel discussion will explore the impact of immigration on the economy;
immigration policy proposals such as a path to citizenship and a wall along the Mexican-American
border; President Obama’s executive action on immigration; and how changing demographics
are impacting the American political landscape.
