CompTIA Credentials

Delta College offers CompTIA certificates for those interested in upskilling their IT knowledge and gaining the credentials that are desired in the industry.  After successfully taking these courses, individuals are able to sit for the CompTIA certification exam and upon passing earn their CompTIA certification. Delta College partners with Ed2Go to deliver these courses.

Available courses

CompTIA A+ Certification Training

This Career Credential training will prepare you for CompTIA A+ certification.

This course is 290 hours of training done on-line using your personal computer and may be completed in six months. It is instructor led with assignments and quizzes. The instructor releases assignments weekly for you to complete in self-guided learning. You can to engage with the instructor via message boards and group chat. This course is designed for a motivated learner and designed to give you the skills needed for an entry level IT support role.

You can earn CompTIA A+ certification after you pass two exams. The CompTIA A+ Certification Exam 220-1001, covers mobile devices, networking technology, hardware, virtualization and cloud computing and network troubleshooting. The CompTIA A+ Certification Exam 220-1002 covers installing and configuring operating systems, expanded security, software troubleshooting, and operational procedures.

CompTIA™ A+ Certification is vendor neutral and internationally recognized, giving you a competitive advantage no matter what country you're working in and what hardware you're working with.

Cost for this program includes testing vouchers.  The vouchers are prepaid access to sit for the certifying CompTIA™ certification exams (CompTIA 220-1001 and 220-1002) upon completion of the course. The exam may be taken on-line or in person at the Delta College Testing Center.

Students who successfully complete the CompTIA A+ Certification training will receive a “Delta College Certificate of Completion for CompTIA A+ Certification Training” reflecting 290 hours of professional development.  This training program is delivered in partnership with Ed2Go.

Upon successfully passing the CompTIA A+ Certification exam, students who wish to pursue an Associate’s degree or academic certificate in Computer Science and Information Technology at Delta College can provide their valid CompTIA A+ Certification document and receive academic credit. CompTIA Network+ Certification Training

This career credential training will prepare for a career as a network technician and qualify to take the CompTIA Network+ certification exam. This course is 110 hours of training done on-line using your personal computer and may be completed in six months. It is instructor led with assignments and quizzes. The instructor releases assignments weekly for you to complete in self-guided learning. You can to engage with the instructor via message boards and group chat. 

This course is designed for a motivated learner and designed to give you the skills needed for and to master basic networking concepts and gain a fundamental knowledge of network design, security, routing and switching. Building and maintaining networks are among the most important skills to have as an IT professional. This certification confirms that you have the knowledge you need to configure and troubleshoot both wireless and wired hardware.

In the course, you'll learn the fundamentals you need to prepare for the CompTIA Network+ certification exam (N10-008) and start a career as a network technician. With its comprehensive curriculum, you'll master basic networking concepts and learn about network design, security, routing and switching, cloud computing, IPv6 and forensics, and common security practices.
To help you learn networking skills in an interactive setting, you can set up your own virtual lab environment using VirtualBox. With VirtualBox, you'll have the opportunity to put your new knowledge into action with networking scenarios you're likely to encounter during your IT career.

This career credential training will assist you in preparing to for the CompTIA Security+ certification SYO-601 exam. This course is 80 hours of training done on-line using your personal computer and may be completed in six months. It is instructor led with assignments and quizzes. The instructor releases assignments weekly for you to complete in self-guided learning. You can to engage with the instructor via message boards and group chat. 

During this course you will learn comprehensive material that covers the key objectives and fundamentals to perform core security functions while pursuing an information technology-based career. Successful completion of this course will allow you to assess an organization's security strength while recommending and implementing appropriate security solutions based on those assessments. Learners will be able to monitor and secure various security environments like cloud, mobile, and IoT (Internet of Things) in addition to obtaining an awareness of applicable laws, policies, and compliance standards. Also, you will be able to identify, analyze, and properly respond to security incidents.
