Legal Support Professional


Program Overview

Considering becoming a paralegal? You'd assist lawyers by investigating facts, preparing legal documents or researching legal precedent. You might also conduct research to support a legal proceeding, to formulate a defense or to initiate legal action.

You can get there from here with a pre-approved transfer agreement into a Paralegal Studies Bachelor of Science degree with Eastern Michigan University. You'll have your associate's in hand, which can increase your employability, as you continue to advance your education.

Facts & Figures


The Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget has projected a 15.5% job growth rate for paralegals and legal assistants in the state of Michigan from 2010 to 2020.


In May 2011 the US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported 4,760 paralegals and legal assistants in Michigan, which had grown to 5,340 by May of 2014.
