Delta College, STARS to offer free public transportation to campus this fall

June 8, 2022

Delta College has partnered with Saginaw Transit Authority Regional Services (STARS) to develop a new bus route for students, faculty and staff traveling to campus this fall and winter semesters.

Starting the week of August 29, the free route will include four runs, beginning at 7am and ending at 10pm. The 20-minute, nonstop route will start at the Depot in downtown Saginaw and make trips to and from the main campus. It will run Monday through Thursday. Students will show their Delta ID to ride.

“We know transportation to and from campus can be a barrier for some, so our hope is to provide better access for those who wish to pursue a college education,” said Dr. Mike Gavin, president of Delta College. “The run times of this new route were chosen to coincide with common class times, so students have greater access to class choices and opportunities.”

Gavin said the new route also aligns with Delta’s commitment to sustainability. Individuals can park their cars in the parking lot at Delta’s Downtown Saginaw Center and ride the bus to campus.
