Political Forum Series

September 14, 2022

The Delta Political Forum Series invites you to “Post Roe v. Wade: Implications for the Supreme Court Decision in Michigan” a deliberative dialogue to be held from 7-8:30pm Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the Delta College Commons.

The interactive audience-panel discussion will address the Constitutional context of the Court’s decision in Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, as well as the status and enforcement of Michigan’s abortion law, and options for women facing crisis pregnancies.

The event is part of an ongoing series at the college which assembles a panel of experts to speak on issues of public concern. The in-person audience will be organized into round tables, providing a discussion and opportunity to report out from each table. Such a “deliberative dialogue” is intended to help attendees develop better-informed opinions, practice civil dialogue and find common ground.

Panelists for the event include:

Lisa Lawrason, Delta College political science professor
Christina Miller-Bellor, Delta College sociology professor
Dana Nessel, Michigan Attorney General
Dr. Audrey Stryker, MD, OB/GYN

The panel will be moderated by Mark Balawender, Delta College Philosophy professor

The event can be accessed in person in the Delta College Commons; remotely with other viewers at the Saginaw and Midland Centers. An ASL interpreter will be available for the event at Delta’s main campus.
