Delta College offering free FAFSA workshops

November 12, 2021

Delta College is hosting several free workshops in the coming months to help students fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The workshops will take place in November, December, January, February and April at Delta’s locations in Midland, Saginaw, Bay City and at its main campus. Financial aid staff will be available to answer questions and help individuals complete or renew the 2022-2023 FAFSA. The events are free and open the community.

“The FAFSA is really the gateway to all types of financial aid and is essential for some students to be able to attend college,” said Lisa Davis, director of financial aid for Delta. “The application is free, and potentially opens up the door to thousands of dollars of funding.”

Participants should bring:

  • Photo ID
  • A way to access the internet
  • Social Security number
  • Federal Student Aid ID (help will be provided if you do not have one)
  • 2020 federal tax information and all W-2s (for student and spouse, if applicable)
  • If under 24, unmarried and without dependents, bring a parent
  • Parents’ 2020 federal tax information and all W-2s
Virtual Q&A Event

Delta will also host a virtual financial aid Q&A session on Friday, December 10, from 12-12:30pm. Individuals can log in to the event to talk with a Delta advisor about anything related to financial aid, including Pell grants, loans, scholarships, cost of attendance, FAFSA, etc.

Registration is not required and students can log on at any time throughout the event. Visit the Zoom meeting link; the meeting ID is 850-2502-5368.
