Delta College will begin Green Fridays on May 17, an annual summer initiative to reduce the college’s carbon footprint while maintaining the same level of educational services.

Delta will be closed on Fridays through July 30, and will have extended hours Mondays through Thursdays to continue the same level of service to students.

The college piloted Green Fridays in 2008 as a green campus initiative to save electricity, water consumption and other resources. In addition to utilities consumption, a major factor for this effort is the emissions that result from regular commutes to and from the college by students and employees.

The Fitness and Recreation Center will remain open on Fridays. See hours at delta.edu/fitness-pool.
