As a large number of people in the region work from home, Delta College is hosting a virtual event about the importance of securing computers and protecting private data.
The one-hour course, “If You Connect It, Protect It! Securing Devices at Home and Work,” will be hosted by Kristopher Howery, lead instructor for Delta’s cybersecurity program. It’s free and open to the community.
The course will be offered four times on Zoom:
- October 20, 11am-noon – Meeting link
- October 20, 7-8pm – Meeting link
- October 27, 11am-noon – Meeting link
- October 27, 7-8pm – Meeting link
Howery, associate professor of computer science and information technology, will discuss online protection, email security and firewalls, as well as password security and how to properly store passwords.
