What do you know about the significance and impact of our Great Lakes? They contain 20% of the world’s fresh water and about 35,000 islands, have a shoreline of almost 11,000 miles and they are home to at least 250 fish species. This program will include seeing the planetarium show “Mysteries of the Great Lakes” and you will also learn about some of its famous shipwrecks from the expertise of Ron Bloomfield, Chief Historian and Director of the Bay County Historical Museum.

Date: Friday, June 20, 2014
Time: 11:30am - 1pm
Location: Delta College Planetarium & Learning Center, Downtown Bay City

Let’s do a bit of international travel by visiting several of the countries that have been part of the trips led by Sue Montesi over the past several years. We will see a bit of the sights of several European countries plus Peru, Kenya and Tanzania in Africa, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand and also learn a bit about their cultures, history, foods, architecture, geography and people. Photos will be shown on the Planetarium theater dome so the images will provide an “up-close” perspective.
