The special event, which took place at the DoubleTree Hotel in Bay City, celebrated Goodnow’s 16-year impact at Delta and the culmination of an all-encompassing, 51-year career in higher education. Goodnow retired on August 31.

Michael Nash, chair of the Delta College Board of Trustees, said Goodnow’s energy and passion for her job has been unsurpassed.

“Jean has continued the Delta tradition of being a long-serving president who has driven innovation, progress and change,” Nash said. “Her longevity truly speaks volumes about her commitment to Delta, its students, faculty and staff.”

At the event, members of the Delta College Board of Trustees and the Foundation Board of Directors presented Goodnow with a special retirement gift – a miniature replica of Delta’s newest sculpture at the Downtown Saginaw Center. The sculpture represents education for all, an effort Goodnow is passionate about and plans to continue advocating for during retirement.
