Students, faculty, staff and community members can learn from each other with different perspectives shaped by a variety of experiences. The interaction between individuals with different world views can help change minds or shape ideas.
The positive effects of taking a course focused on diversity is that employees and/or
students learn about people from other races, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds.
This leads to greater awareness, understanding, and acceptance of differing beliefs
and customs.
For years, Delta College has offered a number of courses focused on diversity.

Delta College holds the license to both a public television station (WDCQ-TV) and a public radio station (WUCX-FM). The College is proud of the programming on both stations, including the following shows focused on diverse audiences.
Soul Issue is the only show in the Great Lakes Bay Region devoted to issues involving the African American community. This news magazine provides the African American community the opportunity to discuss topical issues while promoting positive African-American role models, lifestyles, and relationships.
Somos Hispanos is Delta College Public Media's news magazine about Hispanic people: how they live, the issues they face day to day, and the positive work they do to make a difference in the community. The show highlights people, culture, and events that help promote positive images of the Hispanic community.
La Caliente consists mostly of Tejano music which originated out of San Antonio, Texas, but the station has been known to play some Carlos Santana and other types of Latino music once in a while.
