Images and Files
Photos
If you need photos for your website, view the Delta College Picasa Web Album photos provided by the Office of Marketing and Public Relations. These are College approved photos that are resized for the website and can be inserted directly into your webpage.
If you chose to take your own photos, have a photo release form signed by everyone you photograph for their written permission. Use of photos may invade privacy as well as infringe copyright. This means never copy images found on the Internet without permission.
Graphics
Graphics can be used to enhance the effectiveness of the page, but should be used sparingly. Ask yourself whether the graphic enhances the message or if it is distracting. Like using photos, make sure you have permission to use a graphic.
Optimize for Web
You will need to resize photos for the Web before moving them into Sitebuilder. If your image is too large, it may cause alignment issues on the webpage or take too long to load. The maximum width that fits in the template is 475 pixels with a border. Adobe Photoshop or Fireworks work well for image editing. If you do not own this software, Photoshop Express and Picnik are free online applications. You just have to set up an account.
Web images should be saved in JPEG or GIF format at 72 dpi resolution. This is usually a "Save for Web" option in most editors. Remember to optimize your images because if it takes too long to load your page, your audience might give up and leave.
If you need assistance with resizing a graphic, contact Andrea Techlin in Marketing.
Delta College Logos
Do not recreate the logo or use a scan from a printed document. The official Delta College logo is available here from the Office of Marketing and Public Relations in several file formats. You can link directly to these Web logos by right clicking, clicking Properties, and copying the Image Property location (URL address). You can also save the files to your computer by right clicking on the images and selecting "Save Image As".
Web Format Logos

Print Format Logos
You can download a ZIP file of high resolution, print quality logos with the links below. Save the compressed ZIP files to your computer. Once you have downloaded the file, you can unzip the folder to access the individual files in the format you need – JPEG, TIFF or EPS.

JPEG is a standard raster/bitmap format.
TIFF is also a raster/bitmap format, but has a transparent background.
EPS is vector format for use in design software such as Adobe Illustrator or Freehand. When you place an EPS image into a document, you can scale it up or down without information loss or resolution deterioration.
Saving Files
You may need to upload an image or document from your computer to be used on your webpage. Make sure to keep your file names simple, descriptive and in lowercase. Using spaces in your file names may cause problems on different Web browsers. Use a hyphen to separate words in your file name.
