The STEM Talent Institute

From skilled trades to multiple health degrees, 128 of Delta's 150 certificate or degree programs are STEM related.  The STEM Talent Institute will help Delta College focus on strengthening technical skills needed in the economy, with work being driven by employer demand. Delta is uniquely positioned to lead this portion of the region’s efforts. Michigan’s list of the “50 Hottest Careers” includes 34 that are STEM-related and addressed by Delta College program and course offerings.

Delta Welcomes our New Director!

Delta College has appointed Scott Schultz, Professor of Physics, as our new Director of The STEM Talent Institute. In this position, funded by the Rollin M. Gerstacker Foundation of Midland, Michigan, Scott is responsible for coordinating the many STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) initiatives currently underway at Delta.


The Delta College STEM Talent Institute serves our Great Lakes Bay Region as a catalyst for educational change and novel solutions to STEM-related educational and employment issues.  By working collaboratively with leaders from K-12, higher education, non-profits, communities and businesses, pathways will be created for exciting and rewarding STEM careers.


Students are energized by world-class STEM education.
