About Delta's Program

English composition (writing) courses are fundamental to all college degrees and programs. English elective courses and specialty certificates show employers that a student has developed specific interest and expertise. The English program applies the same academic rigor as the programs at four-year institutions at a fraction of the cost.

One of the very best things about Delta College is your ability to start here and go anywhere. And, in the process, save thousands (and thousands) of dollars. It's a smart choice to get your associate's and then transfer on! Visit transfer agreements and guides to see the whole list of transfer opportunities.

Interested? Make an appointment with academic advising to discuss your dreams. Courses transfer differently based on the university you plan to attend. An advisor can help you determine the exact courses you need to get the education you’re looking for.

Why you should choose Delta

The Delta English program faculty have a range of credentials and interests. They are published authors, PhDs and seasoned educators. Together, they share a passion for the local and the global.

The program offers classes in multiple formats, including face-to-face, online, and blended classes (you meet on campus a few times, but most of the class is online). Small class sizes and one-on-one contact are hallmarks of the program.

The faculty embrace many teaching styles, including visual, project-based and hands-on learning. Regardless of style, at Delta, instructors know their students and help them to succeed.

Life is busy. But that shouldn't get in the way of your education. Delta offers classes at night, on weekends and online to make taking classes and getting that degree easier. Plus, Delta has learning centers so you can take classes even closer to home.
