Course Description

Prepares Fire Officers and Crew Leaders for appropriate response, decision making and tactical operations of one or more companies in structural fire fighting. (12-0)

Outcomes and Objectives

Demonstrate knowledge of Company Officer's responsibility to manage operations of one or more companies.

Objectives:

  • Identify the need to follow logical thought process for decision making and action planning within command sequence
  • Describe the three phases of size-up and their relationship to problem identification
  • Demonstrate the ability to select tactics and strategy using the command sequence
  • Identify strategy and tactics and determine acceptable assignments to implement an action plan
  • Define the need for a management system and demonstrate how ICS can be applied
