Delta College will be hosting the largest Health Expo in the Great Lakes Bay Region this coming Friday, November 22 from 10am to 2pm
. This special event is open to community residents of all ages, and the event and parking are free.
Guests will have the opportunity to talk with over 100 health care professionals from area hospitals, clinics, private businesses and health related associations who will have product displays and exhibits in the Delta College Pioneer Gymnasium. Additionally, the recently renovated stat-of-the-art Health Professions Building will be showcased by faculty and students doing a large variety of demonstrations and interactive activities. Basic health screenings will likely include blood pressure readings, body mechanics assessments, bone density screenings, pulmonary assessments, ultrasound demonstrations, posture and spine assessments, glucose stick readings, and flexibility and muscle endurance testing.
You can also bring your unwanted and expired over-the-counter and prescription medications for proper disposal through the "Dump Your Drugs" program that will have a special container at the event in the gymnasium.
This event is sponsored by Delta College LifeLong Learning and the Health & Wellness Division, Covenant HealthCare, McLaren-Bay Region, MidMichigan Health, St. Mary’s of Michigan as well as several media organizations. Art Lewis of radio station WSGW 790 will be broadcasting live the first few hours of the event.
