General Application Information (for all applicants)

Delta College’s Human Resource Office only accepts applications submitted through the online process. Applications are accepted only for posted vacancies. Applications for part-time faculty positions are also submitted through the online process. Unsolicited applications for non-faculty and full-time faculty positions will not be acknowledged or considered.

Please note that it is Delta College practice that Part-Time employees are only able to hold 1 position within the college at a time.

Employment consideration at Delta College requires an applicant to meet the minimum requirements of the posted position. The first part of our online application process consists of a form that lists the key minimum requirements for the position. An applicant will be asked to answer whether s/he meets the minimum requirements. If an applicant does not meet the minimum requirements, s/he will not be able to proceed with the application process.

The second part of the online application process is the general employment application. A section of this application requires certain electronic documents to be attached. These materials typically include a resume, and cover letter. Sometimes other documents or electronic files are required. Please refer to the position vacancy notice for the list of required materials. Please read the job posting completely to determine if you have all of the required electronic files ready to submit with your application.

All hiring decisions are based on qualifications for the selection of the best talent. When an application is received, it is carefully screened against the position’s minimum and additional requirements. Only those that best meet the requirements will receive further consideration, which may include testing, phone screening and/or an interview.

As soon as an online application is submitted, a confirmation message appears within the screen.

If you have applied for a part-time faculty opportunity, your application will be forwarded to the appropriate division. Specific part-time teaching needs for future semesters may not be known until the end of class registration. If a need materializes and it is determined your credentials meet the position requirements, you will receive further consideration and may be contacted for an interview by the respective division based upon the semester to semester needs of the division.

In order to be considered for future job vacancies, applicants must apply to each specific vacancy. Previously submitted materials cannot be returned or copied. Due to the volume of applications we receive and limited resources, we are unable to respond to inquiries pertaining to the individual status of every applicant. Upon submission of your application materials you will receive information about how you may review the status of current positions through our website.

If you are contacted for an interview and are required to travel, the College will pay one half of approved travel cost (per candidate basis.)  Travel by a personal vehicle will be reimbursed at the College mileage rate, not to exceed one half of the lowest plane fare cost.  The cost of meals will be reimbursed to candidates not to exceed the daily rate in the Delta College Procedures Manual.  The College will not pay for long distance telephone calls made or alcoholic beverages purchased by the candidate.
