Delta College is a community college serving Bay, Midland and Saginaw Counties in the east-central portion of Michigan. Residing in the district are 400,000 people, with three main cities - Saginaw (population 70,000), Bay City (40,000) and Midland (38,000). The Delta campus opened in 1961, and two major renovations have taken place since - a $26 million expansion completed in 1999, and a $42 million project that was recently completed. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Teach Principles of Accounting and advanced Accounting courses. Evening, weekend, off-campus center teaching in multicultural settings will be required. Participation in division and college governance, assessment activities, and a demonstration of ongoing educational and professional growth are required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master's degree in Accounting or related business area. (If the Master's degree is not in Accounting, undergraduate major must be in accounting, or applicant must have successfully completed equivalent accounting courses.)
2. Three years' work experience in the field of accounting.
3. Demonstrated currency in the field of accounting.
4. Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and in accounting software programs.
5. Demonstrated ongoing professional growth.
   

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCES CONSIDERED:

1. Professional accounting or financial certification (for example: CPA, CMA, CIA, CFP, etc.)
2. Substantive multicultural experience (for example: urban community service, academic course work in minority or foreign language studies, or teaching experience with minority students).
3. An ability to teach in a variety of formats, including on-line.
4. College teaching experience.
