Our Open-Door Policy
Delta College’s progressive open-door policy makes education accessible to everyone who aspires to do more in life. That is our mission as your community college. There are two types of admittance, regular and conditional. In addition, there are some programs with additional prerequisite or eligibility requirements.
Regular - Eligible students include high school graduates or equivalent (GED® test credential), non high school graduates whose high school class has graduated, home school graduates at least 17 years old and those entering the US for college education purposes under an authorized student visa (approved by Delta College).
Conditional - Eligible students in this category include guest students from another college or university, home school graduates under 17 years old and students seeking dual enrollment with their home school or high school. Conditionally accepted students must reapply each semester.
Note regarding financial aid: Students who first enroll in a post-secondary program of study on or after July 1, 2012 must possess a high school diploma or GED® in order to be eligible for federal financial aid. See Ability to Benefit for more information.
