Presidential

Welcome to the President's Office

A message from Delta College President, Dr. Jean Goodnow.

Delta College has a local, state, and national reputation as a leader in education and training and my vision is to not only maintain that reputation, but to strengthen it as we move into the future.

This institution is important to the economic well being of the region. Delta graduates are everywhere. Nurses, teachers, doctors, skilled tradesmen, business leaders, people just like you, who come to Delta with a dream to succeed in life, to be a productive member of society.

One of the unique aspects of Delta’s enrollment is the large number of students who graduate from the top one-third of their high school class. It is not uncommon to find as many as eight to twelve valedictorians and salutatorians in a given freshman class.

Additionally, classroom discussion is greatly enhanced through the presence of adult students who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to any instructional setting. We take all students seriously. And that means being sensitive to the needs of students who are considered minorities, either in ethnic background, physical or learning abilities.

Delta’s emphasis on technology continues to make it easier for students to access our classes through the Internet and other distance learning options.

Your hopes. Your fears. Your dreams. Your prospects for the future. We take them all very seriously. That’s the Delta Difference. I trust you will enjoy your Delta experience. The newly renovated campus offers one of the finest learning environments in our region.

On behalf of our Board of Trustees, students, faculty, staff and administration, I welcome you to Delta College.
