Delta nursing grads outperform peers on licensing exam

March 20, 2018

Delta College recently received the 2017 pass rate results of graduates taking the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX). Delta graduates of the associate degree in nursing program earned a 94 percent pass rate. That’s a 5 percent increase from 2016, and well above the national average of 84 percent. Additionally, Delta’s practical nursing program graduates achieved a 96 percent pass rate, exceeding the national average for practical nurses of 84 percent.

“I believe our graduates perform so well on the NCLEX because our nursing program is rigorous and faculty hold students to high standards,” said Wanda Zenzen, Nursing Discipline Coordinator and Associate Professor of Nursing. “The faculty are very committed and work collaboratively toward ensuring student success.”

Delta College offers a variety of educational opportunities for those interesting in nursing, including Registered Nurse (RN) in both a full-time and part-time track, Practical Nurse, Transition from Licensed Practical Nurse to RN or Paramedic to RN, and a dual associate degree of RN and General Management. The College also partners with local universities to offer concurrent bachelor degree options.
