Entry #4 Using Internet Sources
Librarian's Tips
PLEASE SCROLL DOWN THE PAGE

For this part of the assignment, you can use your favorite search engine, but the Librarians use Google.

Many instructors will allow you to use Internet sources as long as the sites are credible. One tip on how to find credible sites would be to use the following search technique. For example, let's say that we need to find a credible site that gives information about stem cells. One such search on Google would be "stem cells" and site:.edu . This search will find educational sites that contain the phrase "stem cells." The thought is that colleges and universities will provide information that professors, doctors, and etc. have produced. Another option is to use gov and org as search options, such as:

"stem cells" and site:.gov

"stem cells" and site:.org
