Delta College G-Wing Lecture Theater (see map)
The Michigan Small Business Development & Technology Center (MI-SBTDC) in partnership with MidMichigan Innovation Center (MMIC), Delta College, Blue Water Angels, and Northern Michigan Angels is pleased to announce their upcoming entrepreneurial competition – BOOST! Delta. BOOST! Delta is an entrepreneurial competition similar to ABC’s Shark Tank where up to 15 innovative entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to present their business concept to a panel of judges and an audience of experienced entrepreneurs and business support professionals.
Contestants can be entrepreneurs in the early stages of developing their business concept to more seasoned entrepreneurs who are actively running their business. Participants will have two minutes to pitch their new tech innovation, product, service, or business idea to the judges and audience. They will be competing for small business resources and other valuable prizes that include constructive feedback, business and financial plan review, and access to capital.
"This is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to sharpen their sales pitch while being able to tap into an extensive network of valuable business resources," said Christine Greve, Regional Director for the Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center." It will also give them greater exposure within the community and state as there will be representatives from all over Michigan present."
BOOST! Delta is a free event open to the public. Guests will meet in the G-Wing Lecture Theater on the Delta Campus for a brief overview of alternative capital options and an introduction to the panel of judges. Doors open at 4 p.m. for refreshments and networking. Presentations begin promptly at 6 p.m. and the event concludes at 8 p.m. Pre-registration is required for both the presenter and audience observers. Additional information and online registration can be found at www.mmic.us or by calling (989) 839-2334.
“BOOST! is where you preview new technology and fresh talent. It is a celebration of entrepreneurship. I am really excited to be a part of this growing tradition connecting innovators with resources,” said Chris Moultrup, Program Director of the MidMichigan Innovation Center (MMIC).
The top two presenters win an opportunity for membership with MMIC that provides valuable small business resources like business and financial plan review, and access to capital. Presenters will also be scouted by investors and industry professionals looking to network and connect with new technology talent.
"The BlueWater Angels rely on BOOST! Michigan as an important vehicle to find new investment opportunities while providing companies with critical feedback and links to support resources in the region that are often more valuable than investment alone," said Ken Kousky, President of BlueWater Angels and CEO of MidMichigan Innovation Center.
