President's Office

The Office of the President serves the Delta College community by facilitating an open and welcoming environment for students, employees and visitors of the college. Led by President Dr. Michael Gavin, the primary responsibility of the office is to provide vision for Delta and continuous leadership and direction for the planning and operation of all aspects of the college's programs and services.

Meet Dr. Gavin

Dr. Michael Gavin
 

Before coming to Delta, Dr. Gavin was the Vice President of Learning at Anne Arundel Community College in Maryland, where he led strategic planning efforts. He has a doctorate in American studies from the University of Maryland in College Park, a master’s degree in literature from American University and a bachelor’s degree in literature from Dickinson College. Known nationally for his administrative leadership that focuses on academic excellence and equity, Dr. Gavin has more than 20 years of experience at community colleges.

He enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, listening to music and catching a Chicago Cubs game.

These standards and protocols are intended to provide generalized guidance for the Cabinet members of Delta College as they relate to COVID-19 scenario responses.  These will be used as a guide to inform decisions versus to direct action, and are not inclusive of all scenarios.  We are currently in Response Level Yellow.
