The WRIT Center Mission

What We Do

The Delta College WRIT Center provides writing, reading, and multimedia composing assistance to all students through support from a peer consultant. We aid writers from every discipline through every stage of the writing process, from gathering ideas to reviewing final drafts.  We aid readers in the reading process with before reading, during reading, and after reading strategies.  We also aid students by providing the skills necessary to create and navigate digital texts/tools like Twitter, blogs, digital essays, etc.

What to Expect

Students can expect to learn how to improve their writing, increase their comprehension and vocabulary skills, and learn the tools needed to create digital compositions.

What Not to Expect

Students should not expect consultants to do the work for them. It is our goal to assist students in taking responsibility for their writing and reading. The WRIT Center is designed to supplement classroom instruction, not replace it. Regular visits to the WRIT Center are recommended.
