Delta College is a founding member of the Great Lakes Bay Regional Tech Prep Partnership. Membership in the consortium is a part of the College's mission to promote innovative changes in education.
Tech Prep is a federally funded program that begins in the 11th grade and continues through an associate's degree, professional certification, or bachelor's degree. The initiative promotes systemic educational reforms that support integration of academic and occupational skills in both secondary and post-secondary schools.
As in all Tech Prep consortia, the Great Lakes Regional Tech Prep Partnership promotes written articulation agreements between secondary schools and colleges, curriculum alignment that provides for sequential programs of study, and support services that will assure student success, both in continued education and in the workplace.
Programs provide for job shadowing, work-based learning experiences, and career development and counseling through institutional commitment and partnerships with employers.
During its association with the Tech Prep Partnership, Delta College has developed and expanded dual enrollment initiatives, alignment and articulation agreements, career ladders, and numerous professional development activities.
