We’re proud to say…Delta College is green from the outside in. From the moment you arrive on campus, you’ll find plenty of opportunity to participate in and learn about sustainability. From parking on recycled asphalt under LED lot lights to relaxing with an organic fruit smoothie in a lounge that boasts recycled carpeting. New initiatives in green technology reduce our use of energy and materials. Building upgrades have incorporated heat recovery systems, occupancy sensors, and low energy argon windows. Our Bookstore and Food Services create shopping and dining experiences in which the customer can be confident they are supporting the environment.

Commitment to Sustainability

We’ve adopted a triple bottom line approach that incorporates economic, environmental, and social benefits as major decision-making components. We promote health, productivity, and safety of the campus community through the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of our buildings and grounds. We are steadfast in incorporating environmentally-conscious choices into purchasing and procurement processes.

• Statewide-recognized recycling program including materials such as cell phones, lamps, and electronics
• Solar powered crosswalk signals, LED parking lot lighting, and recycled asphalt
• Energy management, chilled water system, and white roofs that reduce operating and energy costs
• Eco-friendly furniture, fixtures, flooring, and building materials
• Barley straw substituted for chlorine to prevent algaecide in our signature waterfall pond
