2011 Summer Camps at Delta

Delta College hosts a number of summer camps for area kids and teens on its main campus and Planetarium.

Camp Health & Wellness

For students entering grades 9-12

June 13-15 from 9 am to 3 pm
Delta College

The camp is designed to introduce students to the various health-related careers within the Health Sciences Career Pathway. Each day students will attend hands-on sessions led by local health professionals, college and career center instructors. Participants will have an opportunity to train in adult CPR and learn about professionalism and employability skills.

Basketball Camp

For high school girls

Delta College Pioneer Gym

Register your basketball team for a two-day basketball shootout at Delta College. Battle for the best on the Pioneer courts with five guaranteed games and certified referees. Players will receive a t-shirt and coaches get a polo.

Golf for Life Camp

Boys and girls ages 5-18

June 20-24, July 11-15 or Aug. 1-5
9am - 5pm at Delta College

This camp offers beginner to advanced curriculum for young golfers. No equipment or prior experience is required. Each child will receive 40 hours of professional instruction and will be taught the game, core values and proper technique. Each camp culminates with a round of golf at Maple Leaf Golf Course, and a coupon for a $1 round of golf when accompanied by an adult.

Cost is $185, or $200 when when registering less than seven days before the camp (with the exception of the June 20-24 camp). Cost includes daily lunch and a workbook. For a full camp activity schedule and registration information, visit the Bullseye Golf Foundation website.

Wondering Why Camp

Boys & girls ages 7-11

June 20-23 from 8am - 4pm
Delta College Planetarium

Fun activities will include arts and crafts, science (astronomy, biology and ecology), exploring nature and many other "adventures in curiosity". Highlights include archery at Tobico Marsh recreation area, sailing on the Appledore Tall Ship, a fossil and treasure hunt at the Bay County Museum, Wii game tournament and grossology program at the library, expressing yourself through art at Studio 23 and all things space at the Planetarium.

Asthma Camp

For ages 7-9

The purpose of the camp is to provide an opportunity for children to learn about asthma. The camp provides interaction with other children with asthma in a fun and safe environment. Asthma Camp supervisors are Registered Respiratory Therapists and the mentors are second-year Delta College Respiratory Therapy students.

Children attending should bring rescue and midday medications, a towel, swim suit, and tennis shoes.

A parent or legal guardian is required to accompany the child to Delta to complete emergency information forms. Parking is in the F-wing parking lot on the northwest corner of campus. Construction and Technology Camp

For students entering middle school - 12th grade

July 18-21 from 8am - 5pm
Delta College

Students will use their head and hands to create projects using clean energy, automotive technology, computer aided drafting, carpentry and welding. See how technology is used in high-demand jobs in the Great Lakes Bay Region.

Kids College

For students entering 3rd - 6th grades

July 11-14 and 18-21
Delta College

Kids College is a youth development program which offers enrichment opportunities during the summer. The program offers challenging as well as fun and exciting classes for children going into 3rd-6th grades. Cost is $130/week and includes daily lunch and a T-shirt or $75 for half days (without lunch or a T-shirt).
