Frequently Asked Questions

What are intramural sports?
Intramurals are competitive, yet fun individual and team sports. Delta College currently will be offering 5 intramural sports, including Flag Football, Coed Volleyball, Coed Basketball, Ultimate Frisbee and Softball. Teams compete against other teams in within the Delta Community.

Is there a cost? Where do I sign up?
There is no cost to compete in intramurals at Delta College. Those interested in signing up for a specific sport should come to the Intramural coordinator’s office located in the Pioneer gym in office N113 or call 989-686-9331 for more information.

Who can play Intramural Sports?
Any individual that has a valid Delta ID, whether it is Student, faculty or staff. If a student, you must be enrolled in at least 1 credit hour.

Do I need a team to play?
If you do not already have a team, it doesn’t mean you have to miss out. If you sign up before a sport gets filled, you will be placed on a team through our free agent program. This is a great way to meet new friends!

Can I sign up for more than just one intramural activity?
Since there are at least 2 intramural sports taking place at the same time on different days, an individual can compete in as many as two intramural sports per semester.

How long does the season last?
Each intramural sport will have its own schedule, and each team or individual will be assigned a time in which their game will be played. Those looking for updated intramural information can email the intramural coordinator at michelledelossantos@delta.edu.

Where are the games played?
All intramural sports are played at the soccer fields north of Delta Drive and the Pioneer gym.

How does the playoff system work?
For team sports, most teams will be guaranteed a playoff spot, as the teams will be seeded according to their places in the standings. Giving each intramural team a chance to compete in the playoffs gives students the motivation to play the whole season and compete for a prize following the regular season.

What Do I get for competing?
Every person that participates for the entire season and their team ends up winning the championship game will take home a complementary championship T-shirt!
