Requesting Services

Overview

A request for disability services is not the first step to entering Delta College.  Contacting the Office for information is always encouraged, and can be done at any time, but oftentimes a student does not know what accommodations may be needed until a class schedule has been planned and developed at other steps, or when classes actually begin.

The initial steps that must come first are: Admissions and applying for Financial Aid, Assessment, Orientation/Advisement, Registering and Payment. The next step is to contact the Office of Disability Services.

7 Steps that MUST be followed in order to request Disability (Related) Services

  1. Follow Delta College's application and admission procedures
  2. Call Disability Services to arrange an appointment for an Intake interview
  3. Bring class schedule, as well as current and accurate documentation of the disability
  4. Turn in class schedule with requested accommodations at least 3 weeks before class begins
  5. Meet with professors and discuss accommodations no later than the first week of classes
  6. Students are responsible for scheduling their test time and date with Disability Services Staff at least 1 week prior to the test
  7. Notify the office if accommodations are not received or are not adequate
