Associate in Applied Science

Are you the kind of individual whose burning desire for adventure and exhilaration can only be satisfied by taking to the skies? There are many exciting careers and hobbies one can participate in, but few offer the challenges and personal reward of flying.

That's where Delta College comes in. Delta's program gets you off the runway of life and moving toward entry level employment or transfer to four-year schools that offer professional pilot programs. At Delta you will obtain the knowledge, skill and a portion of the aeronautical experience necessary to meet the requirements for private pilot license, and instrument rating, or a commercial license. For those opting to complete the entire program, Delta awards an Associate's Degree in Applied Science in the field of aviation flight technology.

Careers in Aviation

For some, aviation provides an exciting and unusual hobby. For others, it can lead to a fulfilling and lucrative career. Salaries range anywhere from $15,000 to $140,000 a year in this growth industry. Pilots flying large aircraft command the highest salary. One of the main benefits of becoming a certified pilot is the ability to find work virtually anywhere in the world. Opportunities range from becoming a test pilot, agricultural pilot, airline pilot, and corporate pilot, to position such as taxi pilots, first officers and helicopter pilots.
