Why do stars explode?

Just how fast is light?

The answers to these questions, and many more, are waiting for you in a Delta College Astronomy class! The classes cover everything from light, telescopes and the solar system to the way stars live and die. A special emphasis will be placed on learning the night sky constellations and understanding their apparent motion. You will also have the opportunity to use our large aperture telescopes during observation sessions on campus and at our off campus weekend star party held each semester.

Delta College offers introductory astronomy courses to those who have an interest in everything from the night sky to neutron stars. Several on-campus observing opportunities take place throughout the year for students.

Our astronomy resources include several large aperture telescopes, an on-campus planetarium and the Delta College Planetarium.
