Validation Steps

Step 1: Complete and submit the Validation Application Form to the Registrar's Office. The form may be submitted any time from the start date to the end date of the semester in which you complete your prerequisites. Any additional documents required with your program choice must be turned in with your application.

Step 2: Notification of Validation Status (Validated or Not Validated)
Your validation application will be evaluated to make sure you have all the required courses/test scores for the program you applied for. You will be notified by email as to whether you have met the requirements or what requirements you are lacking. A second notification will be sent after grades/transcripts are in if you are currently completing requirements. Emails will only be sent to your Delta College email.

Step 3: Special Waitlist Registration
If you have successfully validated, your notice will state your validation semester and when your validation will expire. Your semester of validation remains the same throughout the three year validation period. Special Registrations are held annually as follows:

  • Nursing RN RT (NUR 000): June and November
  • Nursing Transition (NT 000): November only
  • Dental Hygiene (DH 000), Nursing RN PT (NPT 000), Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA 000, Practical Nursing (PNE 000), Radiography (RAD 000), Respiratory Care (RT 000), Sonography (DMS 000) and Surgical Technology (ST 000): June only

During the registration Period ALL validated students must put themselves on the waitlist. NOTE: If you have not been an active student at Delta College in the two years prior to your registration, you must complete a reactivation form and submit it to the Registrar's Office. Please do this a minimum of two weeks prior to the Special Registration period.

Step 4: Certification of Registration and Payment
Registration for validated students is not official until verification that all requirements have been met, usually within one week following the Special Clinical Registration/Waitlist period. Once registration has been verified, you will be registered in the appropriate classes and notified by email. The top ten (10) alternates will also be notified. Please check for the payment deadline and make payment. Failure to meet the payment deadline will result in being dropped for non-payment and your place will go to the next person on the waitlist.

Step 5: Orientation
Once you are registered and payment is made, you must attend the mandatory online orientation and any other orientation listed for your program.

Validation Extensions

If, in the third year of your validation eligibility, you are waitlisted and do not get into your program because it is full, a one year extension will be granted as long as you have waitlisted during each previous special registration period. Notification will be sent via regular mail to the most current address on file with Delta College indicating when a student's validation has been removed.
