Public Safety

The Delta College Department of Public Safety & Training is committed through excellence to provide the highest quality public safety services and training. We strive for a safe and secure environment in which all community members can learn, work, and grow. Our department is responsible for all law enforcement and security on the college campus of Delta College and the surrounding four roads. It is our primary responsibility to provide safety and security services, enforce traffic and parking regulations, and conduct criminal and accident investigations.

The Delta College Department of Public Safety maintains a close working relationship with Federal, State, County, and other local law enforcement agencies and all appropriate elements of the criminal justice system.

Our police officers are trained in the same manner as all other law enforcement officers in the State of Michigan and are certified as such through the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards, (MCOLES). They are vested with full peace or law enforcement authority and arrest powers on campus, granted by state statute to the Board of Trustees of Delta College. They also receive updated training on Basic First Aid and Personal Safety, and other inservice training pertaining to the specific needs of the campus.
