Correctional Officer Training Academy

This MSTC Approved 160 Hour Correction Officer Training Academy will include the following areas of instruction:  Booking and Intake; Correctional Law; Cultural Diversity; Custody and Security; Defensive Tactics; Ethics in Corrections; Fire Safety; Interpersonal Communications; Prisoner Behavior; Report Writing; Stress Management; Suicide Awareness; Workplace Harassment; and First Aid/CPR/AED.  Contact the Public Safety & Training Office for student uniform requirements at (989) 686-9176.

Course Dates:        May 6 - June 4, 2013 (Monday - Friday)

Course Time:          8:00 am to 5:00 pm except for Fire Safety Module which is 8:00 am to 9:00 pm

Course Location:    Midland County Jail

Course Instructors:    Michigan Sheriff's Coordinating and Training Council approved instructors
